demolition of old buildings and construction of new buildings are the main sources of construction waste

there are three main sources of construction waste: demolition of old buildings, construction of new buildings and decoration of buildings. the value of construction waste production is high. In 2017, the scale of construction waste treatment exceeded 80 billion yuan

the reuse of construction waste is very important. Every 100 million tons of construction waste can produce 24.3 billion standard bricks, 36 million tons of mixtures, reduce the land occupation of 15000 mu, save 2.7 million tons of coal, reduce 1.3 million tons of carbon dioxide, and increase the output value by 8.46 billion yuan. At present, there are more than 800 construction waste treatment plants in China, of which standardized construction waste treatment facilities account for 28% of the total number of construction waste treatment plants, and the number of non-standard treatment facilities is huge

however, with the deepening of waste classification, special waste treatment will enter the era of targeted treatment. For construction waste, dismantling and filling in place and improving the recycling rate will be the main treatment ways, and the resource treatment of construction waste will enter a period of large-scale and rapid development

taking Shanxi Province as an example, Shanxi Province proposed to encourage qualified regions to plan and build new building materials industrialization parks with construction waste resource utilization enterprises as the core, and promote the large-scale, efficient and industrialized development of construction waste renewable products.
